ABOUT THE PAINTING
During spring break for my kids in school, we went on a camping trip. throughout the day and Every night my family and I, all sat around the campfire. My children sitting around a night campfire was and is beautiful, with a warm feeling. I thought to myself “I must capture this beauty”. But a photograph only shows the moment through a lens. I wanted to capture a feeling of warmth, love, family, and togetherness, so I decided to paint this special memory for my final painting in my final painting class. The portrait of my kids and the campfire is painting on dried wild tree fungus, which my family collects for me to create my art with. So I thought the fungi would suit this painting as it’s substrate.
Substrate
2 paintings painted on 2 dried Tree Fugus.
